Illegal Immigration Implications Post

If America does not take action on the illegal immigration crisis, the security of its citizens may be at risk. As stated earlier, immigration is a great thing for the country. However, a mass amount of people entering the country undocumented proposes a possibility for danger. Not knowing who these people are or where they come from is a problem that can only lead to a massive headache for the government. Although we can assume and hope that most of the immigrants coming to America illegally are in pursuit of the American dream, we can’t take the security of the country for granted. If crossing into US territory is so easy, we may be vulnerable to terrorism or even worse. The recent violence and drug trafficking around the US & Mexican border has already been documented heavily in the past months. No matter the political affiliation or emotional connection to immigration, America needs to take a firm stance on illegal immigration to protect its citizens. Either we will continue the negligence that leaves citizens vulnerable to numerous threats, or we can be proactive and set policies that provide security for the country while allowing the cultural exchange that is immigration.

  1. This implication post expresses a powerful and straightforward position. As I read this post, I was examining the analytical thought process and justification for your outlook of what may result if these immigration issues persist.

I do agree that immigration is great thing as it brings about more diversity as various cultures are introduced into our already diverse country. Even more, I completely agree that immigration can present risks and unsafe circumstances if not taken seriously enough. It is true that we cannot allow these foreigners to enter and reside in our country based on the faith that they are in search for a better life and/or for beneficial reasons of their own. I think concept this is like allowing a decent looking hitchhiker into your car; he appears like a respectable person simply in need for a ride, but there is the great possibility that he could threaten and endanger you. You make a compelling point that Americans need to assess this situation without political or emotional ties to most effectively devise immigration laws and policies as it is essential in protecting us citizens. I feel as though your implications stated in this post provide readers with unbiased and well-reasoned information. Great job!

  2. @ Go.Green., thank you and I like your analogy with the good looking hitch hiker! It accurately describes the illegal immigration process. You never can tell who is who, but we believe most of the illegal immigrants are coming here to better themselves
